The Mazda MX-5 2026 continues its tradition as a pure expression of open-top driving pleasure. Mazda Canada officially announced the pricing and trim structure for the 2026 model on January 27, 2026.

Well balanced, lightweight, and offering an excellent power-to-weight ratio, the MX-5 remains a two-seat roadster focused on a connected driving experience.

The starting price is set at $35,700 MSRP.

Engine and Transmission of the Mazda MX-5 2026

All models are equipped with:

• Skyactiv-G 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine
• Power: 181 horsepower at 7,000 rpm
• Torque: 151 lb-ft at 4,000 rpm
• Redline: 7,500 rpm

Transmission:

• Standard 6-speed manual transmission
• 6-speed automatic transmission available on certain trims with steering-wheel paddle shifters

The GS Soft Top version is offered exclusively with the manual transmission.
The GS-P and GT Soft Top and RF versions are available with either manual or automatic transmission.
